The problemWe aren't short on data. We're drowning in it.
Most manufacturers spend their time maintaining the system instead of improving the production. Checklists to complete, reports to write, KPIs to update and dashboards to prepare for tomorrow's meeting. But if the data isn't being used to improve production, it becomes waste itself. Data should drive decisions, not become another task to maintain.
Lean philosophy is about the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time.
But with data, we often do the opposite: too much or too little, given to the wrong people, far too late.
That problem is no longer relevant.
Just as we deliver our products Just in Time;
we need to deliver the right data, in the right hands, at the right time.
